It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia (FX, 10 p.m.) — Season premiere. By my count, last year had four instant classics (“The Gang Goes to the Jersey Shore,” “Chardee MacDennis: The Game of Games,” “How Mac Got Fat,” and “Thunder Gun Express”), so there’s no point in worrying that It’s Always Sunny will suddenly drop in quality during season eight. As long as Frank and Charlie are around, it won’t.
30 Rock (NBC, 8 p.m.) — The long-awaited “Bryan Cranston as Kenneth’s mom’s friend Ron” episode. Also, Catherine O’Hara, who is a Canadian treasure, like Baby Goose and Barenaked Ladies.
The Big Bang Theory (CBS, 8 p.m.) — Guest star Margo Harshman, from Even Stevens, has grown up nicely.
The Vampire Diaries (The CW, 8 p.m.) — Season premiere. I’d be disappointed in the world if The Vampire Diarrheas doesn’t exist. Someone braver than I can Google it and let me know.
Vice Presidential Debate (Lots of channels, 9 p.m.) — I know Biden vs. Ryan is important and all for our country’s future, or at least it is now because of these photos (and for quoting Veep, you stupid little, croissant-loving f*ckers), but still: I WANT MY PARKS AND RECREATION ON THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
The League (FX, 10:30 p.m.) — Season premiere. Speaking of Parks: Rafi vs. Jean-Ralphio, who you got? Do you take the bump or the bounce, bounce, bounce?
LATE NIGHT GUESTS: Lucy Liu and Rob Corddry on Letterman; Terry Bradshaw and Grizzly Bear on Leno; Kevin James and Ezra Miller on Kimmel; Christina Applegate, Nick Offerman, and Jackson Browne on Fallon; Paul Thomas Anderson on Stewart (!); and Chrystia Freeland on Colbert.

I’ve never watched the Big Bang Theory, but my parents love it, so it must be terrible.
I didn’t know much about the show until I finally saw a trailer when it went to syndication.
I almost threw the TVs out of the house, Poltergeist-style.
What? You don’t include “Frank Reynolds’ Little Beauties” as an instant classic???
I think it’s a really good episode — and “It’s like having a picnic at the beach and getting pissed when the seagulls show up” is a fantastic line — but I don’t think it’s up there with, say, “Sweet Dee’s Dating a Retarded Person.”
DON’T DIDDLE KIDS
Came here to post the same thing. Easily my favorite episode of last season. Also thought the Anti-Social Network was really solid. That speech Frank gives at the end is so priceless.
ahhhhhhhhhhh im so excited for always sunny!!!!!!!
This is the first year I haven’t heard rumblings of ZOMG ALWAYS SUNNY IS FILMING TODAY AT X AND WALNUT/MARKET/CHESTNUT/ETC. so I hope they didn’t screw us out of Philly scenes this season.
Philly doesn’t deserve good things.
The Philly scenes are a nice bonus for me too. As for you Martin… *stomp, clap, stomp stomp clap*
Philly’s basically the Cleveland of the East Coast.
Says this Philly girl to Martin and Omar: Blow me!
Stomp, clap, stomp stomp, clap!
I’m a big fan of “Franks Pretty Woman” it has the timeless line “this dress is tighter than dickskin” and she calls dennis babydick
Agreed
Seconded.
I haven’t been able to visit the site much this week and I just got around to seeing this week’s Sons of Anarchy last night. So imagine my utter shock when Walton Goggins showed up. In that outfit.
NOOOO a virus! Curse you, Mantis Toboggan, for infecting NBC with your debate virus. But bless you for everything else you do for us.
Also, tough call, but I’m gonna have to give it up for Jean-Ralphio. More lovable, less likely to get you killed and stuff.
For the first time in my life I can finally enjoy good Thursday night TV without worrying about Friday homework. Anyone who says getting older sucks is insane.
“Doctor” Frank terrifies me beyond the capacity for rational thought.
Sunny, The League, and Cranston. What a night.
I just wonder if you Canadians will still get Parks and Rec, since CityTv tends to air stuff despite whatever NBC is doing.
Yup us Canadians will still be able to see Parks and Rec.
My, uh, “Canadian DVR” will too. I bet they get Community on time as well.
How about Rafi vs Dennis Feinstein?
After the “Dive for the knife” moment, it would most definitely have to be Rafi. Also, in a fight, Rafi is ruthless.
There’s your “Game of Thrones” reference on “Up All Night”. That’s four in a row. Pretty sneaky sis!
No love for “Storm of the Century”?
THEY LIED TO ME
No mention of a new episode of Russel Brand’s show?
Thank you.
Is that crap still on? I was so happy when FX replaced it with something that was at least occasionally funny after Louie.
IASIP so Good.
