TVLine has learned exclusively that Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel have officially signed on to reprise their roles as Cory Matthews and Topanga Lawrence in the red-hot Disney Channel pilot Girl Meets World. [TV Line]
And if that wasn’t enough to send me shooting straight off the planet like a damn rocketship, Danielle Fishel took to her Tumblr page to discuss the news, and said that she has already talked to other cast members about joining the show.
“I do not know how many BMW cast members will be returning for GMW, or how often they may appear if and/or when they do appear,” Fishel wrote.
“Making the decision to do the show involved more conversations than you can possible imagine,” she added, noting that she spoke with former co-stars Savage (Cory), Rider Strong (Shawn), Will Friedle (Eric), William Daniels (George Feeny) and creator/EP Michael Jacobs about whether or not she should reprise the role. “The first comment out of every person’s mouth was, ‘Let’s only do it if we think we can create something as special as we did with BMW.’” [THR]

I heard from a reliable source that Minkus was on “One Tree Hill” as an ancillary character, so I’m sure he’s in the mix.

Full disclosure: There is a 0% chance that I watch this show, because I am a grown-up. I just think it is great that it is happening. And I like running that picture of Minkus with a Supersoaker.

Whenever I watch reruns of BMW on ABC Family as I get ready for work in the morning I am surprised by how well it holds up.
it is amazing. most shows you watch when you’re a kid, suck upon re-viewing, but the comedy in BMW holds up, i can go back and watch it and not only not hate myself for liking it as a kid, but it still makes me laugh.

And of course, Adam Scott needs to make an appearance as Griff. And Jennifer Love Fefferman! I’m much more excited about this than I should be.

I have never hated a television show with as much passion as I did Perfect Strangers. I would literally kick the TV when it came on. It was the ’80s…televisions sat on the floor then.
I’m sure if this is on Disney Channel, it will be like all the other teen girl shows on there. I think it will be fun for BMW fans to watch the beginning since we all cling to our childhoods but when the novelty wears off it will just be another Selena Gomez vehicle. Unless Topanga is walking around in her underwear for majority of it, I don’t care too much.

This is what every actor (aside from Hugo Weaving and Robert Pattinson) has said about doing a sequel since the dawn of time. Rarely do we get the more honest: “Let’s only do it if it will possible revive my career or keep me from becoming a sushi waiter like the Sharmanator.”
Whatever.
You know this is going to pale in comparison to the inevitable OC reboot about five years from now.
At first I was skeptical, but now that I’m thinking about it this show can be great. Have Harvey come back and I’m completely SOLD.
