Back in 2008, Wale released the first of his two highly lauded Seinfeld-themed mixtapes, The Mixtape About Nothing, featuring a guest appearance from Julia Louis-Dreyfus, followed by More About Nothing in 2010, and now according to Rolling Stone, the Washington, D.C. rapper will work with Jerry Seinfeld directly.
“Wale called me, he came to my show, we hung out a little bit,” Seinfeld says. “He wanted me to do something with him. I didn’t understand it. But he did.” When the comedian told his wife about the project, he discovered that she was a fan of the rapper, though she had somehow missed out on the earlier Seinfeld work. “We’re living together, she’s into him, he’s into me, and I didn’t know about the whole thing.” (Via)
Modern Seinfeld, indeed. On Nothing, Wale used the “The [Subject]” format that Seinfeld named every episode after (“The Contest,” “The Reverse Peephole,” etc.), but he should take it a step further for this album: every LINE should be a Seinfeld reference. “It became very clear to me sitting out there today/That every decision I’ve made in my entire life has been wrong/I smack of desperation/Like a resident of the Island comma Long.”
Or something like that.

Wale is great. Seinfeld is great. This will be good
Wale is only going to refer to himself in the third person from now on.
The only break-up song I choose to recognize is by Mr. Greg Kihn, thankyouverymuch!

Michael Richards didn’t make the cut.
If you’re gonna demonstrate Wale using a Seinfeld reference in a song its “The Soup” or nothing.

If Seinfeld’s wife was a fan and didn’t know about his Seinfeld mixtapes then she has only ever heard Lotus Flower Bomb, No Hands, and possibly 600 Benz. Wale pre-MMG > Wale post-MMG.
No one raps in iambic pentameter tho.
I laughed when I got to MC Jerry Seinfeld and a little snot came out of my nose.
True story.
