The cast of FX’s 10-episode Fargo adaptation was already shaping up nicely, what with Billy Bob Thornton and Martin Freeman on-board, but now — NOW — we’re really getting somewhere: Bob Odenkirk, Glenn Howerton, Oliver Platt, and Kate Walsh have also signed on for the series, which begins shooting next month in Canada.
Odenkirk will play Deputy Bill Olson, a Bemidji, Minn., deputy with seniority over his younger, smarter and more ambitious fellow deputy Molly Solverson (Allison Tolman).
Platt plays Stavros Milos, the Supermarket King of Minnesota, while Walsh plays Gina Hess, a former stripper and mother of teenaged twin boys. Howerton will play Don Chumph, an ambitious personal trainer. [THR]
This is terrific news. Especially the thing about Odenkirk and Howerton. I could watch those two in anything. Like, say, a crossover sitcom where Dennis from It’s Always Sunny hires Saul from Breaking Bad to represent him in legal matters. Hell, let’s throw in Roger Sterling from Mad Men and Ron Swanson from Parks & Recreation, too. And Krieger from Archer. Sure, there are some small issues to work out (they’re all on different networks, one of them exists in 1968, one of them is a cartoon, etc.), but I’m sure we can figure it out if we put our heads together.
I want more like this!
