this episode had good moments but otherwise was “MEH” and it even had KBell!!
Didn’t Annie do the, “Edison out!” thing in season 3?
Man, I found Leslie to be straight up annoying this episode. The rest of the cast was very good.
She pushed it a little too much, would have been nice if they made it more of a subtle, simmering hate.
alright chris bosh…i see you, you win this round.
Baby bibs without Dale Earnhart? Come on, you’re in Indiana. It’s Jeff Gordon.
Also Eric is terrible at the French Horn.
No, it’s Tony Stewart.
Stewart, then Dale Jr. They hate Gordon.
Dammit, I thought Gordon was a big deal in Indiana. I guess that was just a NASCAR in the Last Supper painting.
great a jerry badge
It may give you access to his timeshare in Muncie!
eggs, bacon, and toast
Why would NBC put their only returning show up against the one show that they have no chance of competing with?
Because NBC is like Eagleton. It sucks.
Because they want a really good comedy to die because they are doo doo heads.
NBC does not acknowledge the existence of other tv networks. Remember, this is the network that took it’s most popular drama from 2012/2013 and moved it to a different night. So . . .
This is why they were once ranked 5th… behind Univision.
Wouldn’t it be great if a bunch of Ron Swanson .gifs disappeared because they followed his advice?
I’ll be back to comment later after the wife and I watch the episode, but I just stopped by to see if the badges are fixed? Or are we all Jerry forever?
We’re all Jerry forever . . . . thankfully, no, we’re not.
Maybe the worst part is: his name is actually Gerry.
I watch a lot of sit-coms, comedies, whatever you want to call them, and for all the talk of The League, It’s Always Sunny and add whatever you like here, the last two weeks of Parks and Rec have solidified it as the best comedy on TV right now.
At least until Archer comes back.
“Man 51 eggs” made me harder than anything else all week, anyone got a screencap of it?
Now that’s a fetish I’ve never heard of.
1 more than Paul Newman. As I’m assuming that was what they were referencing/ riffing.
“the last couple weren’t even cooked” – that had me
That was just a delightful episode really. Rob Lowe is criminally underrated on this show and he will be missed dearly, his reaction to the HBO line was brilliant.
Also Ron’s scene in the restaurant when his picture said “Man” was easily the hardest I’ve laughed at this show in a while.
“But I did exactly what you asked!”
“It’s too much information”
I seem to be the only one that feels this show is starting to drift again. Maybe it will tighten up when Ann and Chris leave, and Andy comes back. Overall, I’m not too confident in the future if the ratings don’t pick up. Good news is that turd Welcome to the Family is sure to get canned, so maybe Community will return soon?
Parks and Rec> Community
As the Dude would say, “That’s, like, your OPINION, man!” But Welcome to the Family certainly isn’t, and that was my point.
The show hasn’t drifted since season 2 started, so i don’t know what you’re even talking about.
If the internet really erased all pictures of Ron it would be a very sad day indeed.
Then who would we use for all the government shutdown memes?
Oh HBO, never change.
belt clips. and prehistoric phones. and chris bosh. i shed many tears.
I really, really thought that Diane’s daughters would be pissed about not being at the wedding.
Guh, I’m still dying to find out who’s playing Bizarro Tom!
Is it Diddy?
@Verbal Kunt: IT’S NOT DIDDY.
Does he wear a number on his work uniform?
That nerd from the Go-Daddy commercials.
Chris Bosh sucks. He is no Roy Hibbert.
Can we call Ron Swanson the king of vine now? Donna and Tom’s vineception was fantastic.
Loved Chris Bosh in this episode. Dammit Toronto why did you let him go?!? Also, enjoyed April telling everyone that Anne was her grandmother.
Good episode, but I was really missing Andy. I hope he comes back soon.
“It’s not TV” was probably my favorite line of the night.
now that breaking bad is over can we make crazy predictions about plot progressions for parks and rec?
I’ll go first: Leslie is going to be re-elected by all her NEW constituents from former Eagleton and she will have to ally with her enemies.
Jerry gets the ricin.
Good one Paul. Now lets spend the next few years trying to figure out how Anne’s baby dies before figuring out that the baby does not die.
Baby wears pink = teddy bear = death = jesse’s innocence.
Jerry becomes a Nazi.
Burt Macklin, DEA: They’re minerals April, you sonofabitch.
I loved Tom’s disgust at Ron’s phone.
Hilarious. The belt clip sealed it for me.
A ton of people still use those. Crazy.
“I can’t be seen with you” – Donna
Favorite gag of the night had to be Ron insisting that they only list him as “MAN” under his picture at JJ’s.
(Man) “That’s too much information.”
“We followed your directions”
I don’t know what’s different, but April is looking great this season.
Homegirl can rock short hair.
She’s still annoying.
@Verbal Yes @Enrico No
I wish Leslie had vomited on Ben after admitting she had a plan to save Eagleton.
Loved it, How can there be no John Ralphio Gifs????? That family is literally the worst.
Perhaps because he was only mentioned in this episode.
or maybe because there is no character named john ralphio. Only Jean-Ralphio!
JEAN-RALPHIO ARMY FOR LIFE!!
apologies for the spelling mistake and also for the episode inaccuracy. Just binged all 3 episodes in a row and got confused :I
You mean the best, right?
She put on a few extra pounds, but goddamnit man, I was digging the curvier Kristen Bell last night. When she would walk away from camera in that dress…
Me too. Me too…
Having a baby will do that to you.
I am loving the guest stars on Parks and Recreation this season! First Heidi looking absolutely gorgeous now Kristen Bell! Woho!
I cracked up when Bosh said, “I’m better at French Horn than you, ERIC”
Well, to be fair, everyone is. Eric is the worst.
Haha I thought it was great that Eagleton is supposed to be this very high class wealthy town and yet they still kicked ass at basketball and had seven-footers on their team.
That was a great line. And I was proud I knew that was Chris Bosh.
Yeah, they clearly paid for professional players so they wouldn’t lose, because they’re terrible with money.
Chris’ face when he saw Eagleton has Michael Buble on retainer was classic.
I’ll miss Lowe’s reactions most of all.
I hope this storyline plays a major role moving forward mostly because of Kristen Bell and those dresses. And Ron’s phone was super great. “Clips onto the belt, snug and secure.”
Parks and Rec having a ton of NBA cameos just kills me. Judging from social media postings, we’ll see Roy Hibbert again soon.
I’d like to see a crossover with Lamarcus Aldridge as Penny Marshall’s boyfriend in Portlandia.
I laughed a lot. Great episode.
ERASE ALL PICTURES OF RON!
Also, I was disappointed they didn’t reference the Rent-a-swag situation this week.
I still want a Donna-centric episode, so I can learn how she manages to be so consistently awesome.
I feel like she’s one of those characters that if she gets a “centric” episode she might just not be consistently awesome.
She’s really good in the small bursts they use her.
I sort of like Donna being mysterious.
On one hand, I appreciate the mystery, too.
But on the other hand, I want to know how she operates, because she is the life coach I so desperately need.
I think her personal mantra goes a little something like this: give 0 f***ks, do what you want/like, love life.
I might have that inscribed on my doormat.
First thing: Get more ON the grid.
I agree keep her a mystery…the Rafi centric episode of the League was awful. Sometimes more isn’t better.
I want to see how Donna gets all these men she’s with. I just want to see her spit game or….game spat upon her, I guess?
Not an episode. Maybe 3-minute webisodes.
Treat yo self NBC.
I assume that “It’s not TV” line is a reference to some kind of advertising thing which hasn’t made it across the Atlantic. Either that, or Ingrid is crazy.
It was kind of weird that Ron needed to be reminded about personal responsibility.
Also, I just checked and my phone does have Snake on it.
It’s actually HBO’s slogan — “It’s not TV. It’s HBO.”
This isn’t the best example, but: [youtu.be]
Oh, it’s an old ad/slogan. Not something new.
God, non-Americans are just the fucking worst.
Sorry Dissident, can’t hear you over our free healthcare.
Loved the Guy Fieri joke, bonus that Plaza couldn’t get through it w/o almost breaking.
it’s so weird when she smiles it almost seems sinister
I read that as April smiling happily because, for her, this counts as a deep bonding moment with someone who she actually likes, or at least doesn’t hate absolutely.
(April’s Scale of Hate, from least to most, I would guess as going: Andy –> Champion –> Leslie –> The rest of the main characters –> The rest of the population of Earth)
If she didn’t smile like that, it would’ve been misinterpreted as April being really really mean to Ann. Now that both of them are smiling about it, it’s just a joke.
It was my favorite of the night, closely followed by the “Man – Eggs” photo at JJ’s and the fact that the last few were still in their shell.
Ah, I can definitely see the other reading too. Either way, the smile at the end made it stand out.
April’s Scale of Hate is missing Ron, who I think is either equal to Leslie or just above. Otherwise, spot on.
And after the rest of the population of Earth comes Jerry/Gary.
I read that scene as an intentional smirk for sure.
We had to watch the Rob Lowe reaction to the HBO line about 100 times. I think the missus peed a little.
GD Ron screaming at the tablet was perfect.
That and his ancient phone were classic Ron. How does this man not have 50 Emmys?
but that IS my phone. don’t need no fancy phone screen.
Tom freaking out at the end about the phone-belt clip had me rolling.
Apparently this is to meet the annual quota of one episode per season where Eagleton comes up and Leslie acts like a completely irrational bitch. Works pretty well to keep her from being TOO nice of a character.
Except that (the now-former) Eagleton will be in many more episodes. But yes, Leslie’s dissing of Eagleton was great.
its a sign of good writting when you think to yourself…”I want to slap the shit out of this bitch” and then have to say “wait… that Leslie Knope how could you think that?”
This might have been my favorite Eagleton episode. The list of things they spent money on had me rolling.
Kristen Bell is always welcome in the Charlo household.
//stares sinisterly at picture of Dax Sheppard.
In Leslie’s defense, Eagleton is the worst.
I’m all for more Eagleton and more Kristen Bell! I demand more Kristen Bell walking away from the camera!
Leslie’s Showtime At The Apollo standup session was great…
Leslie Knopes treatment of Eagleton is perfectly rational.
I actually didn’t like how they had Leslie do something that was objectively terrible and crippling for her own town on behalf of a place that legitimately has it coming. If anything her initial attitude was 100% right.
