As you may have heard, advertisers are fleeing shout-y monster Rush Limbaugh’s nationally syndicated AM radio propaganda program in the wake of his comments that women who use birth control are “sluts” who should be forced to post sex tapes online for him to fap to. Among the companies to pull ads so far: AOL, ProFlowers, Quicken Loans, Sleep Number beds, Sleep Train, Citrix Systems, LegalZoom. Among the Limbaugh advertisers who are so far sticking with him: Netflix and Geico.
So now you, like me, can feel a little icky and conflicted when you sit down tonight to watch something on Netflix — a company that is no stranger to controversy. Also, as Hypervocal points out, how the hell have major companies like the ones mentioned above held their nose all these years and advertised with the guy in the first place? He’s been spouting this same sort of stuff for 20 years.
UPDATE: Geico released a statement saying that any Geico ads running on Limbaugh’s show are the result of local ad buyers purchasing airtime and not the company.

Doesn’t take long to pull your ads, Geico. 15 minutes could save you irreparable damage to your image.
Christ, at this point it’s like Netflix wants me to cancel.
The first two seasons of Archer and that new season of Futurama are good carrots they’re dangling, though.
Oh the other advertisers will be back in two months. This always happens when someone says something controversial but doesn’t get fired for it. Once it dies down, the advertisers will be back because, God knows why, he still gets ratings no matter what he says.
He gets ratings because he is a trustworthy source…..rather than the shit on most networks (Dan Rather).
People who find it funny or appropriate for people who are responsible to care for the ignorant or/and irresponsible like Mrs. Fake (who is a liar in many respects) should be pregnant or diseased. If they cant take care of themselves (with all that education) then why ask me for money to take care of it for them? As for Netflix, they are a good company and should not be criticized for its association with conservatism.
Weak troll, D-
I’m trying to decipher your post, but if you’re asserting that the taxpayers are paying for her contraceptives, they don’t. The issues is whether her employer should or not.
Based on his grammar, I was expecting for the end of his paragraph to be a link to buy penis pills or sign up for a dating site.
Why in the world is this even a story? She was completely full of shit and he’s a shockjock that makes his living getting people riled up. Why can’t people just ignore the whole damn thing?
I have to say, I didn’t think people would look at advertising so blatantly. The point of advertising is to put your product out their, if anything, this blunder has made the advertisements a lot more valuable. You listen to Rush’s radio show, a couple hours later, you think about how nice it would be to have a patio, but you don’t know why, then you buy one; it just so happens that a patio commercial was on the Limbaugh show. You people aren’t smart enough to hold a grudge, let alone boycott a radio show.
How did you get here? I mean, how did you get “their”
@Kraken..Sometime having a high Google page rank can bring in some real idiots.
I received this e-mail from GEICO this morning. They say they do not advertise on Limbaugh, since 2004:
GEICO General Insurance Company
March 6, 2012
Dear Robert Bell:
Thank you for using GEICO’s online services.
In 2004 when Rush Limbaugh¿s program also carried remarks that were inappropriate, we ceased all advertising on his show. We don¿t advertise there to this day.
On occasion, a local station may mistakenly run a GEICO ad in the wrong time slot. We are directing our ad buyers to make sure that doesn¿t happen.
We do appreciate hearing from you on this matter.
Sincerely,
Brenda Lewis

Netflix, as the dominoes fall all around you, do you really want to be the LAST sponsor standing? You can’t possibly need ths kind of exposure. Please, pull your ads and clear your conscience.
People are making a HUGE deal out of this…. I defiantly agree that Rush made some tacky, tasteless, horrible remarks but isnt that what he always does? Nothing he says can be taken seriously because he says them for entertainment value and to shake things up. (that doesn’t make what he says right)
And though sponsors are leaving, listeners are flocking to him because he knows better than anyone that any press is good press. I’ll be honest in that I have conservative viewpoints but don’t often listen to conservative talk radio. I’ve been listening to Rush since this happened, just to see what he’s bitching about in regard to this.
I hate that this site is run by a bunch of lib-tards. But I’m sure you all protest Bill Maher and HBO when he calls women cunts and twats, right? Or Ed Schultz and MSNBC for calling a woman a slut, right? Gotta love the hypocritical left.
I’m an independent, educated woman. Or in Rush’s words a whore. What a stupid ad. Don’t you think that someone independent and educated could take care of her own personal needs without taxpayers help. Liberals are all about identity politics. I need my Boniva paid for, any liberals in liberal land ready to take up the cause?
You might want to ask Oblamer how he can accEpt A milliOn from misogynist
Bill Maherl.
Rush Limbaugh is a national treasure and thank goodness he does what he does ….shining the light of truth on liberal bullshit…
