"Crying: acceptable at funerals and the Grand Canyon." -- Ron Swanson
Mike Mitchell is an artist and maker of amazing photoshopped van art whose work we've posted around these parts a few times before, like when the cast of Parks and Recreation signed his noir-style fan poster. This weekend his solo show ("Just Like Us") opened at Gallery 1988 Melrose in Los Angeles. His show features cute illustrations of pop culture and historical figures doing mundane things just like the rest of us, and the visual puns abound.
Some of our favorites from this weekend's "Just Like Us" show are after the jump. All pictures courtesy of Gallery 1988 and Mike Mitchell, and limited edition prints of many of these works are still available at Gallery 1988.
"Pretty Bird". Did you know Daredevil had a cameo in Dumb and Dumber as a child?
"Paddle Ball" And all the whores and politicians will look up and shout "Can we have a turn?"... and I'll look down and whisper "No."

These are the best. And tiny Ron Swanson is the best of the best.
