The Internet Responds To Mitt Romney’s ‘Binders Full Of Women’ Remark

Last night’s debate inspired lots of memes, but one Mitt Romney particular quote from last night’s presidential debates blew up Twitter and spurred Veronica De Souza to create a single serving Tumblr called Binders Full Of Women. The quote, following a question about the gender wage gap, was Mitt Romney’s claim that, once elected governor of Massachusetts, he asked for binders full of women to pick qualified females to be appointed to various positions.
Not surprisingly, the claim wasn’t true, but before it was debunked its condescending tone inspired several parodies. Besides the aforementioned Tumblr page, the phrase “binders full of women” has also inspired a Facebook page with over 200K likes and one commenter (Joi Jamison) who quipped, “Binders full of women cost 77 cents, while binders full of men cost $1.”
The parodies didn’t stop there. Almost immediately, the domain bindersfullofwomen.org was registered and redirects to romneytaxplan, which does this:

Classic.
Below we’ve collected the rest of our favorite jokes about Romney’s quote from Twitter, Binders Full Of Women, other websites, as well as a couple of pictures we photoshopped ourselves.

The “Joy Book” from Big Love was seriously the first thing I thought of, because it was creepy as hell.
